Image Guidelines

The key to a high-quality pet portrait lies in the image you upload. Follow these essential tips and guidelines to ensure yours is just right:

  1. Capture the photo in daylight or a brightly lit room for optimal results.
  2. Use a smartphone or high-quality camera for clear and detailed images.
  3. Ensure the entire face and neck of your pet are visible and not in shadows.
  4. Avoid overly filtered photos to maintain accurate pet coloring.
  5. Ideally, have your pet looking directly at the camera at eye level, facing forward. Other positions are acceptable but will be depicted in the final portrait.
  6. Please note that collars, leashes, bows, hats, and other cute outfits will not be illustrated in the final portrait. We focus solely on capturing the essence of your pet.

By following these guidelines, we'll create a stunning and true-to-life portrait of your beloved pet!

GOOD

  • Pet facing camera at eye level
  • Great lighting
  • Face & neck are clearly visible

BAD

  • Angled face & not at eye level
  • Low lighting & heavy shadows

BAD

  • Pet laying down
  • Head & neck not completely visible

Not sure whether your images will work?

Email your image to us  (support@petportz.com) and we'll let you know. We often create portraits of pets that have passed away, so we understand it's not always possible to follow all of the guidelines above.

In many cases, we can still make it work.
